The 2018 Commonweal Apprentice Company presents:
Salt-Water Moon
by David French
March 9 – 25, 2018
On a moonlit summer evening, Mary Snow studies the Newfoundland sky. Her reverie is interrupted by the unexpected return of Jacob, her former love, in whose absence Mary has accepted the proposal of another. Can Jacob win back Mary’s love or is fate written in the stars? Start the Commonweal season off with this sweet story that Toronto Globe & Mail dubbed a “gem of a play.”
Our four 2018 Apprentices, in addition to their work on- and off-stage with the theatre company, produced and performed Salt-Water Moon by David French. Though they relied on the assistance of Commonweal staff and mentors, the Apprentices themselves carried their project through all phases of pre-production and development to the final curtain on the last performance in March, 2018, on the Commonweal stage.
Commonweal’s annual Apprentice Capstone project is a fully produced play selected, designed, produced and marketed by the Apprentice class over the course of their year of work and study with the Commonweal Theatre Company. For more information on our Apprenticeship program, CLICK HERE.
