NOTICE: I-90/Hwy 52 reconstruction begins July 15.
If you travel through I-90 and Hwy 52, be alert for traffic changes beginning Monday, July 15 when construction begins at the interchange southeast of Rochester.
You can expect slower speeds through the work zones and possible traffic slowdowns during peak travel times in the mornings and afternoons.
—A closure is tentatively scheduled to occur July 27–August 13 from eastbound I-90 to southbound Hwy 52.

From the North (Twin Cities & Rochester)
Take Highway 52 south through Rochester and Chatfield.
At Fountain (about 9 miles south of Chatfield) turn left (east) onto County Road 8.
It’s about 9 miles from there to Lanesboro.
At the bottom of the hill as you approach town you’ll see a large parking lot beside a pond on your right. On busy days, you can park here and walk into town, or drive over the bridge to the stop sign and turn left onto Parkway Avenue.
The theatre is a block-and-a-half ahead, on your right.
From the South (Dubuque, Davenport, Decorah, IA)
Take Highway 52 north past Decorah, IA.
About 17 miles north, just past Prosper, MN, turn left (west, toward Harmony) to stay on Highway 52.
In 3.5 miles, in Canton, turn right (north) onto County Road 21.
(Alternatively, stay on 52N for 12.5 more miles, then turn right to take Highway 16 east.)
After 7.9 miles, at the stop sign, take a left turn to stay on County Road 21.
After 5.8 miles, at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 16, turn right (east) onto 16 and proceed into Lanesboro (0.4 miles).
Turn left (north) onto Parkway Avenue (also Highway 250).
The theatre is 0.6 miles ahead, on the right.
From the East (Wisconsin or the Mississippi River)
Take I-90 west to Exit 249, Highway 43. Turn left (south) onto 43.
Take Highway 43 to Rushford (about 10 miles).
In Rushford turn right (west) onto Highway 16, which goes directly into Lanesboro.
Turn right (north) onto Parkway Ave (also Highway 250) and the theatre is 0.6 miles ahead on the right.
(Alternative route: From La Crescent take Highway 16 west to Lanesboro, a lovely drive along the Root River; about 46 miles.)
From the West (Albert Lea, Austin, MN, or further west)
Take I-90 east to Exit 193/Highway 16, near Dexter.
Follow 16 east (right) through Grand Meadow, Spring Valley and into Preston, where 16 joins Highway 52.
Turn right to follow 16/52 for 3.6 miles until 16 exits to the left (John Deere dealership on the corner).
Take Highway 16 directly into Lanesboro (5.2 miles).
Turn left (north) onto Parkway Ave (also Highway 250) and the Commonweal Theatre is 0.6 miles ahead on the right.
